Head of the Apoxyomenos (the "Scraper"), the famous bronze statue by Lysippos depicting an athlete scraping the sweat of his body. The bronze original is lost and the sculpture is commonly represented by the Pentelic marble copy in the Vatican Museums in Rome, discovered in 1849 when it was excavated in Trastevere (a rione of Rome).
