EMPEROR NERO (54-68 a.C.)

A controversial emperor, his first years of government, under the leadership of Seneca, were happy. He won over the people with donations and games and despised the Senate, attracting its hostility. He was guilty of serious crimes, including that of his mother and Seneca himself. However, it was not he who caused the fire of Rome, as historians believed and taught for a long time.

Marble dust work, with patina of ageing. Yellow cloak.
