THE STUDIO
The sculptures featured in this catalogue are all the work of the artist Patrizio Zanazzo. They are made from a mixture of marble and polyester, and in their artistic transformation they inherit and combine the timeless, sober elegance of marble - made famous by ancient Greek and Roman sculptors and builders - and the ultimate technology of modern day polyester. Each piece, therefore, incorporates and blends together something from the past and something fresh; old themes and new interpretations; a natural material and a synthetic product; the value both of a work of art and of an extremely high quality reproduction.
The unusual material used in their making, the artist's outstanding creative ability, the highly refined choice of the themes, the particular ageing technique and the simulated fractures - which confer on the pieces the enchantment of the ruin and the appeal of the antique - constitute their uniqueness and their value. The result is a fascinating selection of sculptures of great beauty and impact able to enrich, enhance and harmonise any decor: in the home, the office or corporate or public building.
The artist's work is divided into two distinct lines of expression: the classical Roman and Greek masterpieces of the past - carefully chosen, studied and interpreted to give them new originality, and not just to make copies of them, and a very limited selection of abstract pieces - the fruit of inner study and reflection.
By request, he will make any sculpture or theme not included in the main catalogue, or modify those illustrated. He will also make the seven abstracts in larger sizes and mould any theme in plaster, fibreglass or silicone rubber.
