LISTENING

Around the physical body there exists an aura - invisible to the human eye. With colour and shape it expresses every condition of being. In this sculpture the artist imagines it while listening to Beethoven.

Considerations: The subtle waves of sound assume precise forms, even though invisible to the eye, and fill space with their quality. The frequencies of each note reach unfailing our perception, arousing thoughts and states of consciousness. But, as Pythagoras taught, if all things have a number - that is a sound - then all things act invisibly and ceaselessly upon us, as do we on them, producing imperceptible changes. Myriads of subtle but powerful fluctuations by which our being is rung, and in turn rings, like an aeolian harp rustled by the winds of endless correspondences.
